Me and my Friends

With Summer slowly drawing to a close, I've been taking full advantage of the nice, sunny weather. Over the last few weekends the family and I have had the distinct pleasure of hanging out with our friends and parents for play dates in local parks.

Here is a nice shot of Nigel and I. Our Dads have been friends since highschool. Nigel is almost one and pretty soon he'll be walking and talking just like me.

This is Violet, one of my friends from pre-natal class.

Here I am with Sam in my fancy new wagon down at Monarch Park. Sam and I first met at a Toronto Public Health Mom & Tots group last Winter.

This is me with some strange man with facial hair. Anyone know who this is?

Well I hope my friends don't mind me posting these pics. Please let the staff know at jd blog if you object :)

We're going to try and have a quiet weekend for a change and do stuff around the house. Today we are going to find Daddy a suit for Uncle Ryan and Auntie Racheal's wedding. Hopefully if the weather stays dry, we'll go for a big bike ride tomorrow. We also have plenty of chores and cleaning to do.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Losell Reunion pt 2

For some reason, Jonah wouldn't stay away from the country road.
We did a fair bit of walking as there wasn't much traffic.
Jonah definitely loves to walk.

Uncle Andre took extensive photo's of the day and we look forward to posting those pics soon.

Nana will also be a guest blogger in the coming weeks with a special post for us about her adventures in the High Arctic.

Daddy 'D'

Losell Reunion Pt. 1

(Greetings from the offices of jd blog. Dad here on special assignment.
Jonah is off with a runny nose :(

On August 2nd, we attended the yearly Losell-a-thon, held at Ken and Diane's in Orillia. The traffic was horrible but it only rained for about a 1/2 hour which isn't bad considering the weather we've been having this summer.

Jonah spent most of his day interacting with everybody and having a great time. He was drawn to his cousins both young and old and played well. There was an obvious presence of Losell children and my how they grow each year. Jonah was right at home with his cousin Emma, Uncle Kirks daughter. He loved the guitar too.

After dinner there was a music jam with Uncle Kirk and Grampa Ken leading the charge. Others joined in the singing and playing off instruments including Dad. We even had someone on Banjo! But the mosquitos became too bad so we took the party inside.

The next day, Djangy preferred to sit on the steps playing with an empty soda can. What else do you do when your not yet two?

Here are those two sweeties, sittin' in the fly tent, shooting the breeze and swatting mosquitos. What a gorgeous day!

End of Part 1.

Nana is safe in Iqaluit

The office of J.d. Blog just received word from Nana, who is safe and sound in the Capital of Nunavut today. She has wonderful photos, video and stories of the high arctic to share and spoke of some strange geological happenings related to global warming. We look forward to sharing the news and tales of adventure with all of you.

She is flying into Toronto via Ottawa this coming Wednesday the 8th of August.

We'll post updates accordingly.

OUR office is now closed.

We are off to the Losell Reunion in Orillia.

HAPPY LONG WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Paint your wagon

I know this isn't the best photo in the world but I promised to post a pic of me in my new wagon. To be honest, it's a horrible design. The day this shot was taken, the front wheel popped off. Luckily, I wasn't in the wagon at the time. I wouldn't recommend this product 'Little Tikes Ride & Relax Wagon' for the simple fact that the wheel mechanism is secured by a crappy plastic stopper with a thin metal 'claw' type washer. Dad said this thing was worse then putting together an Ikea product, whatever that means. But regardless, we found an old, smaller Little Tikes wagon in the trash so we're going to strip it for parts and 'MacGyver' the wheel so it's functional.

Let the good times roll!

Warmth of the Sun

Hey folks,

Well the end of July is here and I've been pretty busy enjoying the good weather. Dad had some time off recently so we all had a chance to do some major relaxing. As part of our quality time, we all went to Toronto Island and spent the day hanging out on the beach, taking in the sites and soaking up the UV.

Here I am giving my now trademark 'kiss kiss' face to the camera

I also spent some time hanging out with the lifeguards and they let me check out their rescue surf board called a Dolphin...look out surf sisters!

A fab day was had by all and I even dipped my feet in the cool water. Luckily the e-coli count was low that day so I still have all my toes ;)

Awenda

Hello

This past weekend, the folks and I along with my friend Olivia and her folks Jorge and Tanya went camping at Awenda, just outside of Milton on Georgian Bay.

It was a really nice spot with ample room for our gear. The weather held up for the most part ( just rain on Sunday) and we got a chance to go to the beach ( no pics sorry ) and I had my first sleep in a tent which was really no trouble...

What I enjoyed most of all was the freedom of being outside, the amount of trees you could hug and the big rocks I could climb...

It was also really nice to just kick back, hang out at camp and eat ( you guessed it ) peas!

Of course it was also very fun to spend some time with Olivia and her folks. I really hope we can all do it again sometime, perhaps with some of our other friends from pre-natal class.

Jonah :)
