A Day In The Life

Hey everyone,

This past Father's Day served to remind me just how lucky I am. So I wanted to share with all of you a typical day in the life of Jonah as seen through my eyes. The pics below were all taken last weekend.

This close up was taken while Jonah pranced around the dining room in my 'Frank Sinatra' hat that I got at Value Village for $7.99. As you can see he loves hats and has a flare for showmanship.

Lucy has been combing the streets for plastic kids toys that people throw out and Jonah is slowly building up a nice collection. This race car is our latest find, only $1 at a street sale. Notice his 'Bing Crosby' driving cap.

Here is jd at KEW beach. Parents kept passing by us and commenting on his back-back with leash and asking where we got it. I think it looks cool and it sure helps keep him out of harms way.

Awwwwhhhhh don't it just make your heart melt? What a busy day and boy was he exhausted. Night, night jonah, sleep tight.

Happy Father's Day

I realize this post is a day late but to be honest Dad, Mom and I were much too busy having fun down at KEW beach yesterday to get on the computer. Also, Dad was a tad hung over from his birthday party and so he couldn't help me get the post done in time.

Anyway, I just want him to know that I love him very much and think he's the best Dad ever! I also have to give mad props to all my friends Fathers and the cool uncles and soon-to-be papas I know. You are all princes among men and knights of shining karma.

Finally, let the fanfare ring out for Grampa Losell. Not only did he come and hang out for Dad's 35th but he also heard my prayers and got him a brand new acoustic guitar! Let the good times roll.

Up, Up, Updates

Hey lovelies,

So the Franken Crew has officially moved into our new digs at Coxwell/Danforth and we're settling in nicely. It's been a huge transition for all of us and so the growing pains are still evident. We all still feel like fish out of water but day by day we are making things just a little bit cosier, a little bit homier. Pa recently painted my bedroom (now know as the Mr. Custard Suite) and Ma and Pa are going to be painting their master bedroom this weekend.

Sadie is absolutely loving her backyard/patio space and I'm digging the upscale feel and three levels of space. The basement is almost clear of boxes and such and Pa is excited to organize his garage. With other little projects and decorating tasks aside, we should be ready to entertain in a few weeks with a proper house warming.

As for me, I'm still walking and talking and with my increased mobility, learning to fall, climb and roll. In short I walk like a drunk sailor and move and climb like SUPERDAVE. I've suffered a couple of minor bumps and scrapes as of late and even split my lip flying off the change table. I'm also mastering the floor to face plant and for those of you who have wiped out this way, all I can say is, wicked ouch! As you can imagine, I'm starting to develop a reputation for being a pretty tough little cookie, who doesn't crumble easily. For those of you alarmed to read this news, please note that it's apparently a part of growing up. To quote Paul Simon, "You've got to learn how to fall before you learn to fly."

Ok that's it for now. Check you all soon. Peace.

Jonah appears in '24 Hours'

Hey Everybody,

Look who is making news!

Yesterday Lucy and Jonah went to a grand opening of the newly renovated and may we say, totally sublime S.Walter Stewart library. It was a sizable media event and the photographers were looking for good pictures. Turns out, one photographer happened to meet lucy and djangy.

The results are featured below.

The 411 @ 32

Hey Gang,

I'm back in action and here is what's happening in my corner of the world:

We're moving on up!

The family is officially moving June 1st to a house at Coxwell/Danforth. We have a one yr. rental lease on a three story semi-detached with a large garage, bright west-facing modern kitchen, walk out deck and fenced in brick yard, parking, hardwood floors, three bedrooms and two bath. Did I mention we also have laundry?

Look out for dates on our house warming T.B.A.

It walks...

As Dad reported earlier in the week, I'm walking up a storm now. I've also started climbing on the couch and being generally harder to hold and it's keeping Ma and Pa pretty busy. Thank gosh we are moving into a new space, I really need more room to roam.

Da, Da, Da Daycare

So I've finally started Daycare with a woman named KiKi three days a week. It has been very weird to go from constant 1-1 with Mom to hanging with a stranger and her entourage of local kids. Dad takes me every morning and I get fairly upset. However, once I see my fellow captives, we all get into the routine and have a nice day. I'm sure in a few weeks, I won't even cry when Dad drops me off.

Mom is back at work

Congrats are in order as Mom has returned to a promising career. She is a research coordinator at a local hospital three days a week in a fancy office building near the Eaton Centre. Apparently the people are nice and her boss is even nicer. Way to go Mom!

Well that is all the news that is fit to print. We are still waiting on blogger to resolve their issues regarding video. When that is sorted, I'll post some moving pictures of me walking.

Take Care folks. We will likely not post again until after the move.
You understand :)

'Walk Hard'

Attention Ladels and Gentlespoons,

This is an official dispatch from the offices of JD blog from Master post-man Daddy Darce.

On the weekend of May 16-18th the one and only Jonah django superstar officially started walking.

It began innocently enough as tentative steps between various pieces of furniture but then on Saturday he took about a dozen steps before gripping to the safety of our arms. Then on Sunday morning in the presence of Nana, Jonah triumphantly walked, free from the safety of cruising.

As some of you know, Jonah has been working his 'fantastic plastic' walker for what seems like months now. He gets upset when you take it away from him and when at the park, he walks with it everywhere, including on the playground equipment. This walking practice has obviously helped in his development.

I also think that the cartoon character Bo as seen on CBC's 'Bo On The Go' (pictured below with her pet dragon Dezzy ) may have had a hand in all of this.

Quote from the website: "Bo is a positive, super-energetic and inquisitive young heroine who, along with her young friend Dezadore dragon, encourages children at home to go on amazing adventures by actively joining her in a variety of movements that assist her on her quest".
