Like two peas in a pod

Hi Everybody,

I know it has been quite some time since I last posted on the blog. I apologise. Truth is, the New Year has been going by so fast and I got caught up in my social engagements. I also can't believe it's nearly February, my birth month. In terms of updates, I'm doing really well. I am still cruising and crawling around the flat and I'm talking up a storm. I'm also eating and sleeping better then ever and thankfully we have all got over the various little colds and such.

I spend a lot of time with Sadie these days. She is my best pal on the surface level. I'm starting to be less 'in her face' then before and I don't chase her nearly as much as I used to. There is a rumour going around that Sadie may be going to stay with Nana. That's ok because Mom and Dad want me to be able to explore the entire flat without fear of me finding her litter box.

I also have yet another new tooth coming in which brings me up to, well two teeth right up front on the bottom row. Here I am trying hard to hide them from the camera.

I am still very active and on a strict social timetable. Mom and I are constantly on the go, visiting other babes and mom's and running errands. We have a very active lifestyle and I'm loving the time I spend at friends houses, cafes, brunch spots and the library, where I attend a story group. Here is me on a horse at one of my play dates. Ride 'em Django!

My birthday is coming up so Dad is going to be sending out invites in the coming weeks. We hope to have an open house drop-in style party & get together on Sunday, March 2nd between 2-5pm. More details to follow, check your inbox soon.

Hope your having a good day wherever you are!

:) Jonah

Toothless No More

Special Announcement!

As of Thursday, January 10th, I am officially a member of the carnivore & herbivore tribe with my very own tooth, smack dab in the middle of my mouth. No pictures yet, but it reminds me of the image on one of my bibs, for which I got the proper translation:

" I Like To Smile When I have a New Tooth!"

No pictures of my mouth have surfaced yet but with other pearly whites on the way, I'll be posting shots of my gob for you in no time.

All smiles,

:) Jonah

Changes, Part Two

Well it's a new year and that means new changes, new steps, new beginnings. I'm not sure if some of you have noticed but I'm really changing physically and it's no wonder, I'm nearly one years old. The most significant development for me is that I've stopped gaining weight and my baby fat is slowly disappearing as I get taller. I haven't measured my height recently but some say I look as tall as a 14 month old.

As demonstrated in this picture, I'm also pulling new facial expressions that my mom feels are very 'boyish' but not very 'baby-like'. As she puts it, she can see my little mind at work. I've seen it happen with my other friends too, we sort of go from being google-eyed babies to little people with 'adult' characteristics overnight.

I'm also adopting preferences towards certain foods(love yogurt)and If I'm not in the mood to eat something, my lips are sealed. I'm also trying to drink water/juice from my Born-Free water bottle on my own. I tend to spill more then I swallow but Rome wasn't built in a day.

The parents also claim that I'm displaying new personality traits. A good example is that I can express my dis-like for things from being left on my own to play to cardboard boxes. I also have a new past time, blowing 'raspberries' or 'zerberts' on any available tummy I can find. Here is a shot of me in another winter toque, looking like a lost knight from the round 'change' table.

Finally, I know I have mentioned that I'm crawling but here is the actual proof. Check out my graceful form and perfect stance. Breathtaking!

Well that is it for now. So many new things are happening to me that I can hardly keep up with myself.

:) Jonah

P.S. Mom is slowly going through the pics from our Israel/England trip. She has narrowed the pictures down from over 140 to like 50 but still needs to select a reasonable amount for the blog. Hang tight.

Happy New Year 2008

Hello lovely people,

Well it's hard to believe but it's finally here, 2008. That means I'm close to being one year old (Feb 28th) and more first steps and adventures await me and my loved ones.

I know that my reports were slightly un-seasonal and that we had our share of colds and sniffles over here but I hope all of you out there had a safe and healthy holiday break. Please know that we all had a much happier and healthier New Year break. We saw plenty of Nana Emily ( sorry we gave you our cold) and also went and visited Grandpa Ken and Diane in Orillia.

Below is a shot of me in my new hat. Thanks Auntie Jo!

I also want to thank the W's for being such gracious hosts to us on New Years Eve. It was lovely to count in the new year with Sarita, Nigel, Marty and B. You folks are awesome. Here is a pic of me with a 'jonah' toy in my mouth that I got from them. It also comes with a boat and a killer whale. Pretty cool bath time stuff.

Sorry we are still experiencing delays on the vacation photo front but sit tight. Mom has promised me and I'll make her put the pics together this weekend. Hopefully they will be ready to post early next week.

Again, take care all of you. Mom, Dad and I love and miss you all very much. May this year bring you continued happiness and prosperity! Even more, we hope to visit with some of you this year as well.

Cheers,

:) Jonah

Little Drummer Boy

As mentioned in my previous post, we decided to have a modest Christmas this year. However, some cool stuff did show up in the mail and I had presents to open...

Mom helped me unwrap my gift from Uncle Lee and Aunt Jen but I got scared by the sound of the paper being torn. However, once it was over I was very excited by the noise makers they sent. Thanks so much you two.

I also want to thank the 'W' Clan for the lovely toy and clothes. Auntie Jo also sent me a very neat winter hat. Thanks Jo! I hope all of you out there had a lovely, safe and healthy holiday with your loved ones.

So I bet your all wondering where the vacation pics are. Once again, I must apologize as Mom is slightly dragging her feet on this. So, over the weekend Dad is going to sit her down and get her to select a dozen or so of the best pics. He'll then post them for me from work, where it is faster to do so. Look out for the pics in the New Year.

Post-Christmas Post

Hello Friends and family,

We the Frankelsell's of Frankdale hope you and yours had a most lovely holiday break, be it Eid, Chanukah, Kwanza, Christmas, X-mas or Ho-Ho-Ho-Hold the Payments Day!

Sadly, our family time off did not go according to plan. Being my first Christmas, Mom and Dad wanted to do something special for me. However, Santa or St. Nick or whomever brings the gifts brought a big lump of coal in the form of a wicked 48hr stomach flu that hit all three of us, at different times and to varying degrees. I won't go into any details but it essentially made the time off less then ideal and certainly took us all by surprise. The upside of course, is that we spent the miserable time TOGETHER and managed to watch some DVD's in the process, since lying supine on the couch was about all we could get up to. it was a truly spartan affair, with few consumer goods but a bounty of presents not found in stores, the gift of each other.

But alas, the New Year is upon us and I'm looking forward to the great things 2008 will bring for all of us. I'll ask Dad to post some photo's tomorrow since he's at work right now. Mom is getting ready to drag me to the shopping malls for some Boxing Week madness so please send help!

Take Care all...love jonah :)

'Twas the week before...

So as you all know, it is less then a week before the big holiday with the gifts and the debt and the man in the red suit. Being my first Christmas, Mom and Dad have elected to stay at home this year. We all plan to cozy up with some good food and DVD's and very minimal gifts. We hope that everyone understands our absence from any family functions this year. Since Dad has been working such crazy hours, we really need some solid family time together.

This week has also seen me take some big steps forward in the mobility and sleep department. I am officially crawling properly now. Mom noticed that it started to connect for me last week but waited to make sure I was being consistant. Although it appears that I have a little hobble, the swimming around on my stomach is so last month. My teething situation is also out of control and it's made me more irritable and I'm drooling all the time. When will the teeth come?

I'm also really bonding with our cat, Sadie. She is a source of constant delight and facination to me and doesn't seem to mind the fact that I chase her around the house, trying to eat her tail. I also have my own version of petting which involves taking clumps of hair from her back. Again, she seems to bask in the glow of my attention none the less.

Well I hope that all of you out there are winding down at work, finishing up all that last minute shopping and looking forward to a break. Check back here next week where I will post some pics from our festive family times and the much awaited pics from my trip to Isreal/England.

:) Jonah
