On November 26th, 2009 after many failed attempts and accidental soakings, our dear boy Django took his first self-directed and successful 'splash' in his Potty. All this without the help of a potty-whisperer.
This may not seem like blog worthy news to some of you but believe me, it's a joyous occasion as a parent. To imagine a world without diapers is bliss. Reports from his Daycare have also confirmed that he's doing better with communicating and then executing the 'Wiz-Biz' and we have also created a reward chart to help him track his success.
I know we haven't posted updates in awhile but it should also be noted that Jonah has been officially out of his crib for almost a month now. It was a radical and timely decision, especially with the recent news of certain cribs on the market being potentially dangerous. We were happy to have made the transition and so far it's paying off.
Jonah adores his big boy bed ( courtesy of Nana) but it does comes with it's challenges. At the moment, the hardest part is getting him to sleep and stay put. Since he is no longer contained, he frequently gets up and walks around. It also means that he comes into our bedroom at will. To be honest, that's a minor issue. I mean who doesn't love a snuggle bug at 3AM?
So our next big test is an overnight with Nana. We are in 'talks' right now to have Jonah head up to Hamilton for a slumber party in a week or so. We'll keep you posted on how that experiment goes.
In the meantime, we hope all of you are doing well and easing into the festive spirit.
