The Winkle

Hello good people of the blogosphere,

Well last week was fabulous! I've been keeping quite a busy social schedule with Mom let me tell you. Our time is filled up with play dates, pilates and Mom and tot groups. It seems like I'm always going here or there and we are out and about all the time.

Now that Dad's back at work full time for the summer, I really miss him! But I always have a smile and a T-shirt to show him just how much. Hey - I got a new toy. It's called a Winkle, (no seriously) tee hee ;) I highly recommend everyone pick one up. It's like the insides of a Rubik cube.

Anyway- all is really good here. Some of my latest advancements include my new found ability to sit up unattended for a minute or two and I've got better at grasping and holding objects. Apparently I give really good eye contact too.

I hope your all doing well. We are facing some hot, humid, smoggy weather! Stay cool.

Love
Jonah Django

The speed of things...

Greetings everyone,

Allow me to begin with a quote by Ferris Bueller, 80's pop culture Icon and slacker philosopher,"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you might miss it."

These are words to live by. As I stop to look around, I realize that my days of being a small, skinny baby seem so far away. I now weigh 16 pounds, 5 ounces and have started wearing my six month+ clothing. I love to play with my feet and I grab, hold and kick like never before.

Last night I spent my first night out of the basket and on the bigger mattress of my basinet. If this keeps up, I'll need to buy a new car seat, lounge chair and crib soon. Oh yeah and I think I'm in the beginning stage of teething. Well, it's early days but something funny is going on in my mouth.

So Ferris was right. It's important to take time to appreciate the little things and take stock of those moments when life slows down long enough to enjoy it.

Enjoy the pics below. My 'Babes N' Arms' are:

Midwife student Christie (the woman who delivered me), Daddy's Mom Emily, Auntie Brenda and Mommy.

I'd also like to say - Happy 34th Birthday Dad! You may be a year older but your a still a going concern.

See you all soon

Djangy :)

Picture Poems

Mirror, mirror on the play mat floor,
this tummy time is quite a bore.
But despite the fussin' and my spat,
I saw my reflection, imagine that!

There was a time when my 'Nuk' could not fail,
to bring solace and quiet my wail.
But at just 3 months I must confess,
I'd rather suck my thumb and rest.

Having my cake and...

Hello Everyone,

As promised here is a lovely shot of the wonderful cake that my Great Aunt Charise and Uncle John presented to me a few weeks ago. I love the little bottle and safety pin (non-edible) and the shoes made of fresh whip cream. I hear it was delicious!

Me and my friends

Hello good people of the WWW -

Remember I was telling you about my pre-natal class? The one where mom had to hold an ice-cube to simulate the pain of contractions? Well our wonderful class, made up of six pregnant couples finally got together this past Sunday for a post-partum party!

I met all my former belly mates - Bryn,Dave, Kieran, Olivia and Violet pictured above. Hosted by the lovely Tanya and Jorge, the parents spent the day gabbing and feasting on a delicious potluck meal while us kids fed, slept and wiggled. For some reason, all the daddies were drinking this funny liquid from brown bottles while the mom's talked about their deliveries, feeding trials and parenting stories.

It was so nice to finally celebrate the success of our collective births. we are well on our way to creating a community of like-minded families. It was also nice for all of us kids to interact and for our parents to have a new social outlet. We plan to do it again in July and I can't wait.

Salsa Babes

Hey JD Blogsters,

Here are some pictures from my Salsa Babies class. For the last six weeks, Mom and I have been dancing and shaking our booty with these lovely moms and babies. I'll miss the rhythms, the steps and the great fun we had.

Django the Explorer

Hi Everyone,

As I mentioned last week, Mom,Dad and I attended a party in my honor last Saturday hosted by my Great Auntie Charise and Uncle John. Also in attendance were Great Auntie Annemarie and Uncle Kirk, cousins Dylan, Kirk Jr, Jess and Carly were there too as was Grandpa Ken and Diane. We sat outside, had a yummy BBQ and ate cake. We also had a lovely sing-a-long and I just love it when the guitars come out! I want to thank all of you for showing me so much love and affection. Special gratitude goes to Cherise and Annemarie who were the masterminds of the event. Thanks for the books and toys as well. (Sadly, we had a camera malfunction that day so I don't have any pictures to share. Cherise did take a few and will hopefully send them along soon)

It's been a fairly quiet week around here. Nigijuq dropped by for a lovely visit, hence the shot of me in my SPROUT shirt. The latest development in my life is my new ability to roll. That's right, I can now roll from side to side. Watch out world! The final picture is of me in my new hat. This baby says HA HA to UV.
